Just a few days ago we received the sad news that a member of our Alvernia family had died in a tragic car accident.  Nikki Kantor was a camper here since she was a little girl and worked as a staff member for two summers.  She grew up here at Alvernia, sailing our boats and splashing in our pools, showcasing her dance skills in talent shows and learning leadership skills in our JC/CIT program. ...

Support Peticular Pet
Just wanted to take a minute to encourage you to check out Peticular Pet on 25A in Huntington.  Peticular Pet is owned by the DeRosa family, whose two kids are regulars at Camp Alvernia.  The DeRosas are great people, and they have been so helpful to me with my golden retriever puppy Hobbes.  Our campers may remember the fun animal show they did on the last day of camp last summer!  If you...

A-Way Team Mission #2: Project HOPE

Camper Scholarships

I'm Speaking at the ACA Tristate Conference 2010!
I just got word today that my session proposal was accepted by the ACA Tristate Camp Conference Program Committee, and so I will be speaking at the largest gathering of camp professionals in the country! 70 Kids Signed Up For Our First A-Way Team...
You read that right, we have SEVENTY campers coming December 9 to make PBJs for the poor and sing at Carillon!  Unfortunately we are only allowed to bring 40 to Carillon, but we’ll still have a great time here at camp making sandwiches and having pizza!
